The need for air might seem obvious, but it's important to remember that breathing clean air is essential for our health and well-being. Air pollution can have serious negative effects on our respiratory system and overall health, which is why it's so important to live in an environment with clean air, or at least take time out to spend time in such areas. Lifestyle habits can have a negative impact on breathing. Smoking, being unfit and obesity are the major culprits. In addition to this most people are not breathing optimally. Our breathing habits can be affected by anxiety, chronic pain, or simply because we have never learnt that there is an optimal way to breathe. It is easy to remedy this with some basic training in new breathing habits. Many choose to go further and explore the breaths effect on state and energy levels with breath work.
